According to PMI statutes/rules of association ("AD/ART"), member of PMI refers to any individual without discrimination as to nationality, race, religious beliefs, class or political opinions. PMI members consist of:
  • Youth Member, aged 10-20, incorporated in Youth Red Cross (Palang Merah Remaja -PMR)
  • Ordinary Member, aged 20-up, joining either Volunteer Corp (Korps Sukarela -KSR) or Voluntary Personnel (Tenaga Sukarela -TSR)
  • Extraordinary Member, foreign citizen(s) rendering a good service to PMI
  • Honorary Member, Indonesian citizen(s) elected by a National Committee decree in relation to his/her good service to PMI
Detailed membership rules are governed in PMI Statutes Chapter VI as follows:

Youth Member:
  1. Parties eligible for Youth Member status are Indonesian citizen aged 10-17, or those who are in high school level and single
  2. Youth Member enrolls in Youth Red Cross Unit (Unit PMR) in related domicile.
  3. Rights and responsibilities of Youth Member are incorporated in Youth Red Cross (PMR)
  4. Youth Member has a right to receive training and development from PMI executive board, and express ideas in PMI official meeting/gathering.
  5. Youth Member assumes responsibility to carry out and help disseminate the Movement's fundamental principles, comply with Statutes/Rules of association, help promote PMI activities, maintain PMI reputation and pay membership fee.
Ordinary Member
  1. Parties eligible for General Member status are those aged 18 and above or are married.
  2. Ordinary Members are eligible to participate in activities of Korps Sukarela.
  3. Ordinary Member has a right to receive training and development from PMI executive board, express ideas in PMI official forum/meetings, give vote in all assembly in branch level and in all meeting in sub-district level as well as be elected PMI executive board.
  4. Ordinary Member assumes responsibility to carry out and disseminate the Movement's fundamental principles, comply with PMI Statutes/Rules of association, promote PMI activities, actively participate in PMI activities, maintain PMI good reputation and pay membership fee.
Extraordinary Member:
  1. Parties eligible for Extraordinary Member status are foreign citizens ("WNA") aged 18 and above or are married.
  2. Extraordinary Member has a right to receive training and development from PMI executive board, and express ideas in PMI official forum/gatherings.
  3. Extraordinary Member assumes responsibility to carry out and disseminate the Movement's fundamental principles, comply with Statutes/Rules of association, promote PMI activities, actively participate in PMI activities, maintain PMI reputation and pay membership fee.
  • Anggota biasa mempunyai hak untuk menghadiri Musyawarah Cabang.
  • Dalam hal Anggota Biasa di cabang yang sudah mempunyai Ranting, mewakilkan haknya kepada utusan Ranting yang bersangkutan.
Honorary Member:
  1. Honorary Member is any individual who has rendered a good service and given significant contributions to PMI's progress.
  2. Honorary Member is elected by PMI National Executive Bird decree based on proposal from National/Chapter Committee or Branch Committee.
  3. Honorary Member has a right to express ideas in PMI official forum, actively participate in PMI activities, and be elected PMI executive board.
  4. Honorary Member assumes responsibility to carry out and help disseminate the Movement's fundamental principles, comply with PMI Statutes/Rules of association, help promote PMI activities, and maintain PMI good reputation.
Youth Member/Ordinary Member/Extraordinary Member/Honorary Member:
  1. Validity of membership is based on the presence of his/her name on the membership list of PMI Branch office and the availability of membership card./li>
  2. Every member who has moved from his/her branch is required to notify the previous and new branch.
  3. Membership will be nullified if a member resigns, dismissed or passes away.
  4. Membership can be dismissed by PMI executive board is member has carried out a certain conduct that violates PMI good reputation or has been under binding legal sentence.
  5. Membership training is carried out by PMI executive board at all levels.
